I took some test shots today using my Nikon D90 with Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro lens, using the Nikon SB-900 external flash unit. I set up the SB-900 on remote, pointing from the left, while using my built-in flash as the commander unit. I did not want the built-in flash to fire off, but unfortunately, I was not able to achieve that setting.

Hmm… still wondering if it is still technically feasible to fire off the remote external flash without setting off the built-in. It is probably possible with an additional SB-900 as the master mounted on the camera. The other option will be a remote cable I guess.

As I looked out the window, the heavy downpour has quietened to just a drizzle. The rain droplets ran down the glass panels of my window with the darkened skies forming an ominous backdrop.

I remember more than a year ago, I was just playing around with my Canon G7 and took some photos from this window. So I went to the window again, and simply took the same shot again, just as comparison.

Seems like ages ago… 🙂
